Scrappy (5'7", 165 lbs, Kentucky)
Max Ryder (5'10", 175 lbs, Ohio)
Total Run-time: 25 minutes, 18 seconds
THIS IS THE ONE. If you don’t watch another NHBFight, this is the one to watch. Boyish Max Ryder has more than proven himself a skilled combatant to look out for with his endurance and strength. Scrappy has ascended to a particular skill level in the world of no holds barred wrestling. This is a moment of truth, for both wrestlers.
Scrappy drives Max into the floor, where Max is most comfortable as a fighter anyway. Max locks his ankles around Scrappy’s back, straining to maintain the muscled beast. An expertly applied armbar commands the first tap. Long before the halfway point, both wrestlers are drenched with sweat.
Tight, closeup camera work makes you feel like you’re wrestling too, as legs and arms and crushing embraces push each of these young wrestlers to the very limit. At times it’s difficult to immediately tell who tapped out because both wrestlers appear to be in so much pain. A level of desperation seems to overcome these fighters as they slip and slide in the glossy, sweat covered mats.
